Aleast 15 electrifying young girls from various schools across the country are set to coquettishly parade on the Miss Malawi Schools pageantry slated for Saturday afternoon October 26 at the Blantyre Youth Centre.
According to the organizers of the event, Tabwera Entertainment, about 60 girls registered, but they trimmed the number to 15 after a screening process which took place at Malawi Sun Hotel a fortnight ago.
“During auditions, judges were looking for someone who could be able to combine both beauty and brain and those 15 teen queens proved out to be the best of the rest,” said the company’s event’s manager Justice Mponda.
He said that apart from nurturing the pupils into professional models, the contest also aims at instilling self esteem and encourage a girl child so as to realize her full potential in life at a tender age.
“We want to motivate the school girls to have confidence in themselves on the public platform and address them on their rightful roles in social and economic development of the country,” he said.
